Models With Masks
It’s a model’s job for their face to be seen, and coming out of nearly complete isolation for one of the first times since the pandemic began it was my job to face, through the lens something, normal that had become alien. Every interaction had taken on the tinge of the darkened time, but this one was magnified. Seeing a model walk onto set with a handheld face shield of sorts, was about as bizarre of a plunge into the mid-covid world of modified and sickly surreal returns to work as I could have imagined. My sense of familiarity with this situation had been turned inside out.
These images capture an extremely specific time and an insular experience. Within my regular process I had the chance to capture something truly odd that I haven’t seen before or since. Something that visually is barely there but completely changed the way I saw the subject.
